All about English Vinglish!

After a long wait I finally got to watch English Vinglish! To start with I like such simple yet beautiful movies where you just walk out feeling happy. I was quite happy with this movie though.

It had some endearing moments which made you feel soft in the heart and actually value a thing called 'emotion' in life. There is a scene in the movie where Sridevi, called Shashi in the movie goes to her daughter's school for her parent teacher meeting just to be told later by her daughter that 'she was embarrassed with her presence'. Reason - She couldn't communicate in English!

Well, we all have had such moments where we have hurt our parents unknowingly since we feel that they 'embarrass' us! Phew- This scene made me weep a little. (Yes I am a weepo when it comes to some movies)

BTW, I loved the whole New York experience this movie brings. Last but not the least Sridevi looks quite graceful and has acted well except for in some places where she can't forgo her 'trademark accent'.

Overall if you want a stress free movie experience, I reckon go for it!

Confessions of a Shopaholic!

It is indeed no surprise to people who know me well, that I have obsessive shopping disorder if that is any thing! I get these phases where I want to just shop shop shop, and I have these phases more than often (too bad for my hubby dear). Well, whatever people say, I feel shopping is the most relaxing thing, like EVER! The joy and happiness I get holding shopping bags full of my favorite things (which don't remain favorite for long, I tell you!) is not comparable!

For example these days I get some kind of kick out of buying cosmetics, even though on a daily basis I get time to only use a kohl pencil and a light compact with nude gloss for my lips. But still wherever I see some interesting eye shadows, foundations, mascara's I just flip over to buy em'! As a result now I have a big box full of cosmetics which I really don't know when to use except for a wedding or some party. But yeah to drive home the point I am like that, and I guess most of you are also like that only!

Would love to know about your mad shopping experiences, do share! :)

The Way I Are!

Weight oh wait! A highly discussed issue. I have always been fluctuating/on the border line or beyond whereas weight is concerned. I have heard close family members telling me about it. But frankly unless it becomes a health issue, it is not really a obsessive issue for me. Yes, being fit is awesome BUT if you are not, doesn't mean that you are not 'not awesome'.

I am not anyone to give gyaan on what is right or what is wrong. But what I find wrong is the attitude that our society has towards 'a perfect body image'. After all what is a perfect body? Is it about you being able to fit into those skinny jeans? That's all? So you are telling me life is all about fitting into a pair of skinny jeans!?

Not my life. (atleast)

I am really proud to say that I have not been brought up this way, where I would be so judgmental about how people look. Whenever I have had 'fat years' (and I have had lots) my family has never once said anything to depress me. Why is weight soooooo important that you just simply ignore other things? I have even heard people close to me say that so and so would not be a good match (to get married!) until she loses weight. Blah Blah and so on.

Simply put, beauty lies in the simple things in life. Stay fit, smile, be happy, keep everyone around you happy, cleanse your soul and trust me you will be the prettiest of em' all!!

This post goes out to all you pretty ladies who can relate to my post! Add comments if any!

Ciao :)

Hello everyone!

So finally the blog bug bit me! Yes, I have been thinking for a while of starting my very own blog but never got around to it but today I was determined (read: free time) to have my very own space on the web!

So first things first. I am no big writer. If you are looking for some "high on grammer"stuff, my advice -- look elsewhere! This is a blog, a space to express yourself hence I am a free bird here (Yipee!).

Secondly, the title of my blog - My Cup of Tea. This doesn't have any deep fundas honestly. My blog's philosophy is just to share, explore and express things which I love! Well, then why would you be interested to read it? Well just because all of us have something in common which is why we look for things that connect us in each other.

I am here (trying) to share with you things I am passionate about and love! These could be anything from the ideas I have, work I do, something I feel deeply, life in general about to fashion, shoes, bags the bling, etc etc. (Yes I am vague like that!)
So, without much ado, I present to you my blog! I hope you enjoy it and even if don't then - this is not your cup of tea! :)

Love

Aditi
